How To Connect A Virtual DJ To The Mixer
To connect the Virtual DJ to the mixer, you will need to have the VirtualDJ Basic or VirtualDJ Professional. These editions of the Virtual DJ support the connection and use of an external audio mixer. The home, limited and console editions do not support it. Avoid using them. However, it is crucial to note that the VirtualDJ Basic is not compatible with MIDI controllers like the Hercules DJ Console. For MIDI controllers, the VirtualDJ Professional is the best compatible device to use.

You will require a sound card. You should either have two sound cards or a sound card with multiple sound outputs. For example, a 5.1 surround sound card or a DJ sound card like the Numark DJIO. If, however, you are using a computer then chances are that a 5.1 surround sound card will already be built in. The sound card allows you to output the sound from the Virtual DJ deck to the audio mixer through the two separate channels.
Once the sound cards are secured and connected properly, you will need to go to the ‘Configurations’ and click on ‘Sound Settings’. Once all is set up, the Virtual DJ will detect the attached external mixer and apply the appropriate sound settings to it. However, it is always a good idea to check the Set-Up menu to ensure that the correct sound settings have been applied.
After double checking the setup menu, click on the audio tab. You should be able to see your external mixer’s name on the screen. Click your mixer’s name to confirm the connection of the external mixer and the Virtual DJ. Make sure that the volume sliders are full so that all the sound can be adequately transferred to the external mixer. You should be able to hear the sound clearly.
